Seduced by Two is released today!

I'm so thrilled! My first menage is out today.

I had so much fun writing it and I hope you enjoy.

And if you leave a comment, you'll be in the running for my contest. Get your choice of a print copy of SHADOW MAGIC, the first two stories in the Magical Seduction series or the download of SEDUCED BY TWO.

SEDUCED BY TWO is the story of brothers Tanner and Jensen and Nica, the woman they both come to love. The seventh book in the Magical Seduction series, Seduced by Two features cameos by a few of my favorite characters including my darling Sal. Here's a little piece of him for you today.

Excerpt:

Tanner slid out slowly as Jensen followed on Nica’s heels. His brother only had eyes for Nica. Tanner took it slower, checking out their surroundings, noticing the faint but elaborate decoration on the wood trim around the front door.

Nica knocked once before pulling out a key from her back pocket, an old skeleton key that she fit into the lock and turned.

The door swung open soundlessly and she waved them into a small foyer.

The house looked…normal. Maybe stuck in an eighties’ time warp but… He didn’t know what he’d been expecting but normal hadn’t occurred to him.

Even the dark-haired kid walking down the stairs directly in front of them was normal. He looked to be ten or eleven, with a knit cap pulled down over his ears.

"Hey, b—Nica, how’s it going? Everything okay?"

The kid eyed them with intelligent dark eyes, hands stuffed in the pockets of his jeans, a black t-shirt from a Rolling Stones concert hanging off thin shoulders.

Nica audibly sighed at the sight of the kid and Tanner’s gaze narrowed.

"Sal, the man from the other night took Tira. He called this morning to tell me. This is Tanner and Jensen Miller. I’ve told them who and what I am. I told them what happened Friday night and…and I’d like you to offer them sanctuary until this situation is under control."

She turned and glanced at each of them in turn. "Jensen, Tanner, this is Salvatorus. He runs this house."

Tanner’s eyes widened for a brief second. This kid ran the safe house? What the hell was going on?

Tanner turned to find Jensen looking at him, the same questions in his eyes, before Jensen moved to put himself in front of Nica. Tanner moved behind her, putting his hand on her shoulder and trying to draw her back against him. Shielding her.

Sal’s head tilted to the side, as if contemplating Nica’s request before he started to grin. The kid checked out Jensen first, looking him over from head to toe. Then his gaze connected with Tanner. Holy hell, the kid’s eyes…

Tanner’s spine stiffened in reaction. This was no kid.

"You think they can handle it, sweetheart?"

Nica nodded, though she didn’t move from behind Jensen. Tanner had the feeling she was humoring them, making them feel…useful.

"Handle what?" Jensen said for both of them.

"Who Sal really is," Nica answered. "I know you’ve already seen what I can do, but Sal is…special."

"And she don’t mean short-bus special, kids." Sal snorted, his voice seeming to deepen with a sarcastic edge. But the look he gave Nica was almost apologetic. "Niccola. I don’t want you to get hurt, babe. And this has the makings of heartbreak written all over it."

"We would never hurt her," Jensen spoke before Tanner could open his mouth, saying exactly what Tanner had been thinking. "And we don’t want to see Nica get hurt."

Sal must’ve caught Jensen’s undertone because he smiled. And his image went blurry.
Tanner blinked, thinking he must have gotten something in his eyes. They didn’t hurt or burn or feel gritty. The kid’s whole body just blurred.

And then his vision cleared.

And instead of a child, something else stood there.

Something with the upper body of a man and the lower body of…

Tanner blinked and sucked in a deep breath, feeling like he’d been gut-punched.

"Holy fuck." Jensen’s muttered curse left him no doubt that his brother felt the same.

The…whatever he was smiled, a hint of pity in it. "When they catch their breath, bring them back to the kitchen, hon." Sal clomped down the stairs, his hooves—Jesus Christ, he had hooves. "I’ll get some coffee on."

SEDUCED BY TWO excerpt

SEDUCED BY TWO releases Friday!

Stop back then to enter a contest to win a readers pack including a download of SEDUCED BY TWO or the paperback edition of SHADOW MAGIC, the first two stories in the Magical Seduction series.

The first m/f/m menage in my Magical Seduction series features strega Nica, a witch on a deadline, and twin brothers Jensen and Tanner, who fall for her.

Book Seven in the Magical Seduction series

One woman. Two brothers.

It was supposed to be one night only—an escape into pleasure. A night for Nica to forget her obligations and her secrets. Through hours filled with sensually wicked exploration, an emotional connection develops with the two gorgeous brothers she had no way of anticipating. But a stranger with an ultimatum and a dangerous power forces her to reveal her own magic to save her new lovers.

Now Tanner and Jensen are drawn into a world they never knew existed by a woman whose abilities they can barely comprehend. But they won’t let the fact that they have no magic get in the way of protecting their woman. Even if it means sacrificing their lives.

Excerpt:

Jensen walked ahead to open the front door and wave her through. Tanner slid past her and turned left, flipping on a light and illuminating a sitting room as he continued into the kitchen at the back of the house.

“Do you want something to drink?” Tanner asked as he opened the fridge, grabbing a bottle of water.

Behind her, she heard Jensen close and lock the door.

And her breath caught in her throat, her stomach clenching in anticipation.

Jensen stopped next to her, drawing her gaze. He watched her with those blue eyes, the hunger and heat she saw there ensnaring her attention.

His hands, large and solid, cupped her face, the warmth of his skin sending shivers down her back, forcing her lips to part so she could breathe.

He held her gaze for so long, she thought she might have to kiss him. Vaguely, she heard the refrigerator door close then footsteps sounded on the wooden floor behind her.

Would Jensen kiss her first or would Tanner touch her?

Each second that passed as she waited for the answer tortured her.

When Jensen finally moved, she drew in a deep breath. And when his lips touched hers, her mind blanked to everything but the sensation of his skin on hers.

He moved his lips over hers slowly, as if savoring. Then his mouth opened over hers, his tongue slipping between her lips to stroke along hers.
Nica sank into the kiss, gave herself up to the waterfall of sensation it caused.

Jensen kissed with the same intensity he’d shown earlier in the bar. Totally focused on her, he overwhelmed her and she drowned in him.

All while touching her nowhere but her face. And still, her entire body vibrated, hanging on the edge of expectation.

Her hands lifted to his hips, grasping at the waistband of his pants, though she didn’t know if she needed an anchor or if she wanted to anchor him to her.

Her heart pounded against her ribs, her mouth and body responding eagerly to Jensen while waiting for Tanner’s touch.

With her eyes closed, her other senses went on overload. Her ears strained for the slightest hint that Tanner was moving closer. She swore she felt his body heat on her back through the thin material of her shirt.

And still he didn’t touch her.

Was he watching? Was that all he’d do?

Would it matter?

Tilting her head to the side, she started to give back to Jensen as good as she got.

With a groan that rumbled against her chest, Jensen’s fingers slid across her cheeks and into her hair, shivers radiating out from the point of contact. His hands sank into her hair, the strands catching and pulling, erotic little tugs that made her moan.

Her hands clenched and pulled his hips closer. She needed to feel how much he wanted her, needed to know that he did.

And he didn’t disappoint. His erection a thick rod against her lower stomach, she shifted, rubbing against him to ease the growing ache between her legs.

As if she’d given him permission, Jensen’s hands released her hair and settled on her shoulders then slid down her arms, as if to warm her. His rough caress added fuel to the burn already boiling through her blood.

When he started to ease away from her mouth, she tried to maintain the contact as long as possible. She didn’t want to stop, not for anything.

Please Welcome Guest Kate Hill

Living with Characters

One of my favorite things about writing is character building. I like to get to know my characters for weeks, sometimes months, before writing about them. Usually there are several characters in my mind who fight it out for whose story will be told first. The pushiest ones give me a very clear picture of themselves and in a way live with me on a daily basis. To establish their personalities, I picture them doing everyday things, sometimes right along with me. I try to imagine everything about them--what they like to eat and wear, the kind of exercises they enjoy, the type of cars they like to drive, and how they react to certain situations. The things I think about while character building don't always appear in the story, but they're helpful in deciding how the characters react to situations in the story. By living with the characters throughout the day, they become real to me in a way that makes it easier to bring them to life in the book and it's also a lot of fun.

After the book is written, the characters usually take a step back to give others a chance to develop, but they always remain with me. Sometimes they even reappear for other books. That's why one of the most difficult questions to answer is "who is your favorite character?" It's impossible to decide because even though I don't always agree with their words and actions, all the characters have been part of my life.

As a reader, when I find characters I love, they also become real in a way. I think about them long after the story ends and if they appear in another story it's almost like seeing an old friend. I also like to reread their stories. If I'm down, reading old favorites can often make me feel better.

Writers, what are your favorite ways to build characters? Readers, how do you react to your favorite characters?

Please welcome Adele Dubois. Adele is a former journalist who writes erotic romance that receives consistent outstanding reviews. Titles include DESERT WILD, DESERT FEVER, INTIMATE ART and DREAM TRAVELER. Look for additional titles in 2009 and 2010. Please visit Adele on her website at http://www.adeledubois.com/

DESERT WILD has the richest setting of any book I’ve written to date. Set in both Santa Barbara, California, and The Sonoran Desert in Arizona, I learned after months of research that the rare species of plants and animals found in America’s most hostile desert are also some of the most unusual and beautiful in the world.

Living among deadly snakes, mountain lions, and bobcats are exquisite bouquets of Desert Lavender, butter yellow wildflowers called Paper Daisies, delicate Rock Flowers that peek from mountain crevices, and countless varieties of blooming cacti. Even the symbol of The Sonoran Desert, The Saguaro Cactus, ripens with blood red fruit that is crushed into ceremonial wine by the desert’s indigenous people.

The rarest, most exotic flower of all, The Queen of the Night, became a symbol of love inside my stand-alone desert books DESERT FEVER and its sequel DESERT WILD. The queen blooms only one night each year and her flowers die at the first light of dawn. Only the stars enjoy her beauty at midnight and the desert air breathes her intoxicating scent. The flowers remind me of lovers who reveal themselves under cover of night.

To navigate the hostile American desert and keep my hero and heroine safe from predators while seeking the mysterious Queen of the Night, DESERT WILD needed a guide. The heroine’s GPS system, dubbed “Guy,” is a powerful but endearingly kinky navigator who grants wishes. Though not exactly a genie, his satellite receiver locates whatever his driver needs most. “Guy” brings a touch of magic to the desert, where beauty and danger live in delicate coexistence.

If you had a GPS navigator like Guy who could locate whatever you needed most, what would you wish for?

DESERT WILD by Adele Dubois

Sonny Wild Horse of the Tohono O’odham Nation is a danger to a woman’s heart. Though he lusts after Caitlyn Spencer, his desire to live inside two conflicting worlds—the Sonoran Desert of his youth and the California coast where his future as a photographer is assured—tears the lovers apart.

When Sonny disappears inside America’s most hostile desert, Caitlyn borrows a unique Thunderbird convertible and embarks on a desperate search. The car is equipped with a powerful but endearingly kinky GPS navigator that grants wishes. Though not exactly a genie,
“Guy’s” system locates whatever his driver needs most.

And Caitlyn needs to connect erotically with Sonny. Again and again. If only she can find him in time.

Great new review for Seduced by Danger

From Just Erotic Romance reviewer LT Blue:

"Seduced by Danger is the sixth stand-alone story in the Magical Seduction series bringing all the expected intensity of sex, suspense, and romance of this great series. I have become a fan of Ms. Julian’s writing style. Cara is a great character who becomes strong after the birth of her son, Aron, and starts to control her own fate. Michael is the best bad turned good Alpha male that I have read about in quite some time. I thought the chemistry between Cara and Michael was great and I was pleased when they delivered the same heat in sex. I thought it was great how most of the secondary characters were from the previous stories and they didn’t try to overtake Cara and Michael’s story. Seduced by Danger is a definite re-read for me and I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read the previous books in the series."

Can you see my smile!
